The Shape!

Just in time for October I decided to release a lil' teaser by adding an all-new track to the 2018 "Michael" digital single on Bandcamp. Check out "The Shape"!

The track, initially part of the 2018 sessions with Australian musician Jesse Breckon-Thomas, was unfortunately never finished, but I decided to unearth it, give it the Videogram treatment and release it for Halloween.

The Damn Fine Cast!

Many thanks to Tony Giles for including me and Jesse Breckon-Thomas' Michael in the 111th episode of the Damn Fine Cast!

The episode, which leans on the horror side of things, also includes tracks by maestro John Carpenter (taken from the recent 2018 Halloween), a taste from Colin Stetson's Hereditary score, and two tracks from the Blair Brothers' work for the Netflix horror/thriller Hold the Dark!

Italian composer Bruno Nicolai and the iconic Jerry Goldsmith wraps up the 53-minute episode with the former's Morricone-esque tunage for Westworld and the latter's work for the 1976 sci-fi classic Logan's Run - quite fine company indeed!

Michael

It's October 1st, Halloween's around the corner, and I couldn't be more excited to release a surprise teaser taste from my ongoing collaboration with Australian composer Jesse Breckon-Thomas!

The all-new track, titled Michael, is a musical nod to both John Carpenter's iconic title track opening the 1978 classic Halloween, as well as the original boogeyman Michael Myers himself. It's a hard-hitting instrumental that blends classic retro-sounding horror synths with more modern influences, delivering an explosive three-minute effort that's dark and uncompromising.

The collaboration, which began late summer of 2018, has me and Jesse revisiting and reworking demos I created back in 2015 for a U.S. documentary on John Carpenter that never got off the ground. The sessions are in progress and the expected release of the TBA-titled effort on SelectaVision is early 2019. Stay tuned!

Covering my all-new compilation Choice Cuts 2014 - 2018, my work ethic, creativity and prolificacy, the mainstream's increased interest and appreciation of all things genre, the VHS Lives documentary, and the 2018 version of John Carpenter's Halloween, etc. etc. it was quite fun to do. Early in September Rue Morgue Magazine released the horror synth compilation They Came From Rue Morgue and it's just a few days left to download before it's gone! Popcorn Horror!

Head on over to Scot horror magazine Popcorn Horror and check out their review of my recent Stranger Things-themed Test Subject 011 four-track EP.

I Warned You Not To Go Out Tonight (Extended Version)!

Check out RetroSynth's all-new extended video they created for I Warned You Not To Go Out Tonight - taken from my debut S/T album! Using footage from William Lustig's 1980 sleazy classic Maniac, which is the main inspiration for the track, they created a two-fer trailer including the spoken word warning from my most-recent Gladiatori dell Apocalisse EP on Cineploit. Check it out here.

Halloween!

Here we go: As Halloween's coming closer I decided to release a little treat for my fellow horror fans - a cover of John Carpenter's iconic 1978 Halloween Theme!

I've been having a love affair with this track since the first time I saw the opening titles of this 1978 horror classic and it was such a treat working out both the arrangements and the video.

The video premiered this evening (6 P.M. CET) via The 80's Guy and, just like my cover version, is based on the original (in this case the 1978 trailer), with some changes.

Hermit: Monster Killer

Check it out, I teamed up with Swedish director Ola Paulakoski for the teaser trailer of his coming feature film Hermit: Monster Killer (Swedish title Den Gamle och Monstret) that was released in time for Halloween.

Check it out: Just in time for Halloween UK label Graveyard Calling releases their second installment in the freebie compilation series Pumpkin Guts. Featuring all sorts of horror-inspired sounds, this 26-track album offers everything from "hellish horrorpunk, sinister synthwave, demonic dubstep and devilish disco" - including Walpurgisnacht off my first Videogram album. Camp Blood single

I don't always ch ch ch, but when I do I ah ah ah... October's finally here and I am stoked to announce to release the Camp Blood single. Not only 'cause I think the track turned pretty cool, but also as a fellow horror fan 'cause it's just one big "nudge nudge, wink wink" for the Friday the 13th fans.

Camp Blood video

The all-new video for my coming Halloween track Camp Blood is online. Using footage from Sisworo Gautama Putra's Indonesian 1981 Friday the 13th knockoff Srigala, I think this one turned out pretty funny.
