The Shape!

Just in time for October I decided to release a lil' teaser by adding an all-new track to the 2018 "Michael" digital single on Bandcamp. Check out "The Shape"!

The track, initially part of the 2018 sessions with Australian musician Jesse Breckon-Thomas, was unfortunately never finished, but I decided to unearth it, give it the Videogram treatment and release it for Halloween.

Lunchmeat VHS!

September 2019 marks the five-year anniversary of the creation of my Lunchmeat VHS Fanzine tape! Released in May that following year, the original 30-minute version offered faux 'trailers' for every track off my S/T album - utilizing footage from cult movies considered to be in the public domain - with a 3D version added as a bonus courtesy James 'Doc Terror' Harris!

Updated with the remixed and remastered versions off my Videogram Redux album, you can stream the video it in all its 4:3 glory on my YouTube channel here. Videogram Redux, featuring the original S/T album, with previously-unreleased bonus tracks, is available on all streaming services as well as my Bandcamp page here.

Outpost 31 Isn't Responding (redux)!

September 24th sees the third release in the Videogram redux series: The Outpost 31 Isn't Responding digital EP/cassette! Originally released in the fall of 2015, the EP is my tribute to John Carpenter’s iconic 1982 sci-fi horror classic The Thing.

The 2018 ’redux’ version sees the original two-track single completely remixed and remastered, and expanded with two previously-unreleased session outtakes, one all-new freshly-penned track, plus my reimagining of Ennio Morricone’s Humanity Pt. 1 added as bonus tracks, making for one twenty-minute EP's worth of ice-cold horror synth!

The physical version comes on an six-track "cassingle" manufactured on snow white cassettes with full color A and B side stickers, and a wrap-around sleeve featuring Van Davis' gorgeous original artwork printed on premium recycled card stock. Choice Cuts CD!

I'm excited to announce that the Choice Cuts 2014 - 2018 CDs have arrived at the Videogram/SelectaVision HQ and they both look and sound great!

The second installment in the Videogram redux series, the CD culls album, EP, and single tracks from Videogram's 20+ discography, as well as previously unreleased material such as my collaboration with Acid Washed's Andrew Claristidge and the scrapped Slasher EP - all remixed and remastered specifically for this album!

Fourteen tracks in total, this limited-edition red vinyl-effect CD comes in an oversized full-color outer sleeve with a printed record-style full color inner sleeve. Available via my merch page on Bandcamp. More details (and photos) here.

Choice Cuts 2014 - 2018!

I'm excited to announce that my Choice Cuts 2014 - 2018 compilation on SelectaVision, marking the four-year anniversary of the Videogram horror synth project, has just been released.

The second installment in the redux series, this fourteen-track collection culls album, EP, and single tracks from this project's 20+ discography, as well as previously unreleased material such as my collaboration with Acid Washed's Andrew Claristidge and the scrapped Slasher EP - all remixed and remastered specifically for this album!

Another Year Not Dead!

For a second taste off Videogram's Choice Cuts compilation, head on over to Brutal Resonance's official Bandcamp page and download their all-new compilation Another Year Not Dead!

The 24-track compilation features The Demogorgon, an initial taste from the Videogram and Andrew Claristidge collaboration sessions. The track marked a first and sees me and the Acid Washed member head into industrial territory, drawing influences from, among others, Front 242, Ministry and RevCo.

"Test Subject 011" 7" available via Bandcamp!

New week and I'm excited to announce that my Stranger Things-themed Test Subject 011 7" on SelectaVision is now available via Bandcamp! 

You heard the title track on SomaFM, Krypton Radio and Rue Morgue's They Came From Rue Morgue digital compilation! "Tight 'n' tense", "laced with a retro Moroderesque back beat", "groovy and damn good!" (Cinema Retro), the 7" "totally embodies the otherworldly sci-fi eeriness of the show and characters, both in sounds and in it’s artwork" (Popcorn Horror), and offers an "upbeat sensation that has that synthesizer sound from the old school highlight days" (Yeah, I Know It Sucks).

The two-track 7" single (with bonus intro) is pressed on black vinyl at 45 rpm for maximum audio punch, housed in a white inner sleeve, and wrapped in a two-color sleeve printed with gloss finish to enhance the artwork.

"Test Subject 011" 7"!

I'm excited to finally be able to announce that Videogram's Test Subject 011 7" has been sent off to the pressing plant, thus officially launching the SelectaVision label! The preliminary release date is set to January 2018 and pre-orders are being accepted!

The two-track Stranger Things-themed 7", that totally embodies "the otherwordly sci-fi eeriness of the show and characters, both in sounds and in it's artwork" (Popcorn Horror), is available via SelectaVision's page on Qrates, and comes with a bonus download of the four-track digital Bandcamp EP. There's a limited amount available to pre-order, so you better act fast! Stores and distributors should get in touch for wholesale orders.

Videogram Redux!

Originally released in the summer of 2014 to coincide with Doc Terror / Horror Sexy's Italian Horror Week, Videogram's S/T album burst onto the international horror scene, receiving accolades such as "truly an amazing auditory experience" (Horror, Sci-fi & More), a "skillfully crafted faux soundtrack album grounded in retro electronica" (Rue Morgue), and "the most powerful piece of electronic scoring to hit the horror community this year" (Lunchmeat VHS Fanzine).

Created as a trailer show for a fictitious 1980s VHS distributor, the album offered sixteen tracks of genre-influenced sounds, with inspiration culled from the sleazy slasher, dusty post-apocalyptic dirger, supernatural horror, and Italian cannibal section of the VHS rental store, bookmarked between faux idents and a voice-over copyright warning.

Now, having remixed each original track, culling bonus tracks from out-of-print releases as well as previously unreleased material, the album has been reissued as Videogram Redux, the first in a series of three collecting early and unreleased material.

Test Subject 011!

September 1st marks the release of Rue Morgue Magazine's all horror synth-themed digital compilation They Came From Rue Morgue!

The compilation features twenty acts from the current horror synth scene, including artists such as Tangerine Dream's own Thorsten Quaeschning and Ulrich Schnauss premiering a track off their all-new Synthwaves album, Umberto, Zombi, and an all-new track by Videogram.

Although this compilation is a free download, all proceeds will be donated to charity, so please consider adding a couple of bucks when getting it as it is for a good cause. Available until October 31st, 2017, you can get your copy here.

To coincide with this I am releasing the all-new Test Subject 011 EP! With a title track written specifically for They Came From Rue Morgue compilation, the four-track EP features additional tracks written during that same time period, all with a Stranger Things theme.

A bit darker than my previous efforts (Retro Gaming Magazine sums it up as "gorgeous" and "darkly intense"), the EP sees an expansion of the Videogram sound, injecting it with a healthy dose of both Italo and Space Disco, but also reaching outside genre boundaries by adding live string arrangements to the tracks. You can get it via Bandcamp for 3 Euro (approx. $3.60).

Omaggio al Maestro Ennio Morricone!

Halloween!

Here we go: As Halloween's coming closer I decided to release a little treat for my fellow horror fans - a cover of John Carpenter's iconic 1978 Halloween Theme!

I've been having a love affair with this track since the first time I saw the opening titles of this 1978 horror classic and it was such a treat working out both the arrangements and the video.

The video premiered this evening (6 P.M. CET) via The 80's Guy and, just like my cover version, is based on the original (in this case the 1978 trailer), with some changes.

International Boombox Day

July 20 marks International Boombox Day, which also means it's time for Synthetix.FM's third annual Stereo Sonic Rockin' Mixtape!

Compiling twenty-two tracks, including Videogram's He's Still Out There off the digital version of Camp Blood EP, the compilation is some 80+ minutes in length. Check it out.

Camp Blood EP digital!

Here we go: December's here and that means the digital version of the Camp Blood EP has been launched on my Bandcamp page! Featuring the five tracks from the 10" pic disc EP on Cineploit, this version adds some exclusive bonus tracks, the original 2014 version of Camp Blood as well as the Voorhees Stomp 8-bit video directed by Aaron Romero. Camp Blood pre-orders!

Cineploit just announced on their official Facebook page that they are now accepting pre-orders on the December release of my Camp Blood EP. This five-track 10" pic disc vinyl record features fun remixes of both Camp Blood and Voorhees Stomp off the Pre-Cert LP/CD, with additional tracks exclusive for this release.

As an added bonus, the EP features gorgeous artwork courtesy Andy Grail and Cursed Camp Studios, making it an audio and visual treat for fans of the iconic Friday the 13th franchise. The 8-bit video, directed by Aaron Romero, received positive feedback from both the horror and gaming community, getting write-ups and shout-outs by NECA, The A.V. Club, Retro Gaming Magazine, Tom Holland's Terror Times, among others.

And here they are! The LP version of my Pre-Cert album on Cineploit is now available! The pre-orders will start shipping out today, so those that acted fast should get their copies towards the end of the week (peeps in the U.S. etc. might wanna give it an additional week).

I've yet to receive my own copies, but Cineploit themselves stated that the album both looks and sounds great, and judging by the photo they sent me I'd have to agree. This week also sees the latest issue of Deadline - Das Filmmagazin hitting the stores. The November/December issue of Germany's largest independent film magazine features Samuel L.
